Breezer: Villager
This bike has internal rear-hub gearing and utility touches such as fenders, racks and bells. The Villager won because "it just feels right, from the moment you get on it." Slow-speed handling was "supreme," the 26-inch wheels spun up "surprisingly fast," the spring-loaded rack was "truly convenient" and the suspension seatpost muted bumps so ably that one tester "wished I had one on my city bike." Yes, there are less expensive transportation bikes out there, but the Villager has an "elemental" ride.
